About the event
What is EDEX?
EDEX is a biennial tri-service exhibition launched in 2018, describing itself as the only defence and security event covering both Africa and the Middle East. International manufacturers and Egyptian defence companies present land, naval, air and security technologies, and the show includes a hosted programme for official delegations. The third edition took place in December 2025. The 2027 show runs over four days at the Egypt International Exhibition Center in New Cairo, under the patronage of the President of Egypt, with more than 45,000 square metres of exhibition space at the 2025 edition.
Attendance is restricted to trade visitors, official delegations and accredited media. Exhibitors depend on high-quality stand photography, product videos and carefully managed social content that respects security protocols. Ministerial tours and delegation visits are a central part of the programme. Any content must follow accreditation and security rules set by the organiser, so coverage is best planned well ahead with clear briefs on what can be filmed and shared publicly.
