About the event
What is Saudi Cup?
The Saudi Cup is a two-day international race meeting that draws leading horses, trainers and jockeys from around the world. The main race, run over 1,800 metres on dirt, is a Group 1 contest. For 2027 the Asian Pattern Committee upgraded the Saudi Derby, run on Saudi Cup day, from Group 3 to Group 2. The meeting also features fashion, hospitality and cultural programmes.
In 2026 the Saudi Cup carried a US$20 million purse, one of the largest in world racing. The meeting attracts royalty, owners, international media and luxury brands.
