What is El Gouna Film Festival?
El Gouna Film Festival combines competitive sections for features, documentaries and shorts with premieres, talks and workshops. Its CineGouna platform supports Arab projects in development and post-production, and in 2026 added CineGouna Series for Arabic television projects. The festival has consistently taken place in the autumn, usually in October. The 2027 edition would be the festival's tenth, a milestone for an event that has grown quickly since its launch in 2017.
Filmmakers, talent, producers, critics and sponsors gather in El Gouna for over a week. Red carpets and brand activations make photography, short-form video and social content essential for partners.
