About the event

What is Al Dhafra Festival?

Held under the patronage of UAE President H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the festival is best known for its camel beauty contests, alongside falconry, horse and saluki racing, rifle shooting and heritage competitions. The 20th edition runs from 27 October 2026 to 13 January 2027 across five stages: Sweihan, Razeen, Madinat Zayed, the Al Dhafra finale and the elite rounds.

The 2026–27 edition offers more than AED 97 million in prizes across 383 camel competition rounds. The festival draws camel owners and breeders from across the Gulf over several months. Sponsors and partners can use photo and video content from each stage to share the festival's heritage story with wider audiences in the UAE and abroad.
